04.2.2018 | FCC Consumer Alert: 'Neighbor Spoofing'

The FCC is warning consumers about "neighbor spoofing" scams where thieves manipulate caller ID information in ways that make calls appear to have been placed locally.

07.26.2018 | CHANGE: Password required for "union" wireless network - Effective August 2, 2018

In order to provide better security on our public wireless network, Union College will be requiring a password to join the "union" WiFi. This new step will be effective starting on August 2nd at 9:00 am.

08.16.2018 | Colleague System Unavailable Wednesday, August 22 6am-9:30am

On Wednesday, August 22nd, software updates will be installed on the Colleague system. The installation will begin at 6:30 a.m. and expected completion is by 9:30 a.m.

Drive File Stream is a new desktop application that allows you to quickly access all of your Google Drive files on demand, directly from your computer, meaning you use almost none of your hard drive space and spend less time waiting for files to sync.   Drive File Stream will be turned ON for all customers, but we'll only show download links in the Drive interface if you currently show them for Backup and Sync/ Google Drive for Mac/PC.

Apple will release their new operating system, macOS High Sierra as a free upgrade on Monday, September 25, 2017.  In order to ensure that the deployment of macOS High Sierra enhances our computing environment and user experience, testing of the macOS High Sierra operating system and software applications used in our environment has begun.  Our goal is to have the testing completed by December 15, 2017.  While testing is going, ITS strongly recommends you do not install macOS

As part of our IT security efforts, a Data Classification Policy was approved by Senior Staff in June of this year and is effective this Fall. For faculty only, the effective date has been changed to January 1, 2018.
