04.2.2018 | FCC Consumer Alert: 'Neighbor Spoofing'

The FCC is warning consumers about "neighbor spoofing" scams where thieves manipulate caller ID information in ways that make calls appear to have been placed locally.

06.20.2018 | Access to 25Live is currently unavailable
Access to the 25Live system is currently unavailable.  User can use the site to search for locations or events, but will not be able to login to the system to make reservations.
ITS is monitoring the situation with the vendor and will provide updates when available.
06.21.2018 | Nexus Scheduled Outage for Planned Upgrade

On Thursday, June 21, Nexus will be upgraded to version 3.4 to improve functionality and enable new features for your use this Fall term. Services will be offline from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm ET. During this period of time, you will not be able to access the system.

07.10.2018 | Nexus 2012-13 courses scheduled for deletion

ITS retains LMS courses in Nexus on a rolling five (5) year basis from the end of the term a course is taught, as per the Learning Management System (LMS) Course Retention Policy. On July 10th, ITS will remove course sites more than five (5) years old. (i.e., Summer, 2012, Fall 2012, Winter 2013, Spring 2013 term courses). Exemptions to the policy are handled on a case-by-case basis (contact snyderd2@union.edu).

Information for Graduating Seniors

Congratulations on Graduating!!!

Your Union College e-mail account will be disabled effective June 30, 2019.  After that date, the accounts will be locked and scheduled for removal.

If you are not returning to Union College, you should begin moving your e-mail to a new account immediately upon graduation. Do not apply for employment or graduate school using your current Union College e-mail address.

The Office of Alumni & Parent Engagement is pleased to offer you use of a full suite of Google products including an alumni Gmail account with your same union.edu username name (email address). 

 This account will be activated this week and instructions to login and begin using this account will be sent to you this week. Look for the email with a subject line that reads "Your new alumni.union.edu webmail account". 

 If you'd like to update your information with the College, please submit the Update Your Information form.

In general, you have two options available to you with respect to keeping the e-mail from your Union College e-mail account.

  1. You may move your e-mail from your Union College e-mail account to a mail client such as Outlook Express (PC) or Mac Mail (Macintosh).  This will allow you to keep all of your e-mail, but you will not be able to continue using the mail client after June 30, 2018.
  2. You may transfer the e-mail in your Union College e-mail account to a personal Gmail account.  The personal Gmail account will be available after June 30, 2019 when the Union College e-mail account is disabled.

Option 1:  Using a Mail Client with Union College E-mail

Google Apps provides instructions on how to configure an e-mail client such as Outlook Express or Mac Mail to work with Union College e-mail. Please follow the instructions at the link below for detailed information.


In the configuration instructions, when asked for “Account Name” and “Email Address”, enter  your Union College Email address in the form username@union.edu

NOTE: This will allow you to keep existing e-mail and any mail received up until June 30, 2019 in the e-mail client. You will not be able to send or receive e-mail with your Union College e-mail account after June 30, 2019.

Option 2: Transferring to another Gmail Account

Navigate to the following URL:


Select “Learn More” on the first paragraph which talks about Less Secure Apps.

Follow the steps in Option 2 under Change Account Access for less secure apps by:

Login to your Union College email account.

Click on your username icon in the upper right corner.

Select “My Account

Select “Connected apps & sites” underSign-in and Security”.

Slide to turn on “Allow Less Secure Apps

Logout of the Union email.

Login to your personal Gmail account (NOT the Union College e-mail account)

Click on the Options “gear” in the upper right hand corner of the page and select “Settings

Select the “Accounts & imports” tab

Next to “Check mail from other accounts”, Select “Add a POP3 mail account you own”.

Enter your complete email address: Userid@union.edu and select Next Step

Enter your complete username@union.edu email address and password.

For POP server, enter: pop.gmail.com

Change Port to 995.

Put a checkmark next to Use SSL

Choose label of incoming messages.

Select “Add Account

Select “NO” when asked if you want to send email as union.edu

Select “Finish”.

NOTE: This will allow you to move existing e-mail to your personal Gmail account. Your Union College e-mail account will stop receiving e-mail after June 30, 2019.
