Emerging EdTech: How to Use Perusall to Promote Deeper Reading

May 18, 2018
Perusall_lunch_learn

Would you like for your students to do a closer reading of your texts and come to class better prepared? Join Denise Snyder, Director of Learning Technologies and Environments, and Stacie Cassat Green, Instructional Design Consultant, to learn how to use Perusall, a (mostly) free web-based technology that was developed at Harvard University. Perusall provides students a platform to collaboratively annotate textbooks and PDFs with their questions and comments. The tool automatically generates a one page “confusion report” for each assignment that you may review before class, as well as grades for the students based on the quantity, quality, and distribution of their comments and questions. In this workshop, you’ll learn how Perusall works and practice setting up your own course. Bring your laptop and at least one PDF of a reading that you want to use in your course.

When: Common Hour, Friday, May 18th
Where: Schaffer Library, Room 232 Learning Lab
Food provided, no need to RSVP–just come by!
