04.2.2018 | FCC Consumer Alert: 'Neighbor Spoofing'

The FCC is warning consumers about "neighbor spoofing" scams where thieves manipulate caller ID information in ways that make calls appear to have been placed locally.

06.21.2018 | Nexus Scheduled Outage for Planned Upgrade

On Thursday, June 21, Nexus will be upgraded to version 3.4 to improve functionality and enable new features for your use this Fall term. Services will be offline from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm ET. During this period of time, you will not be able to access the system.

07.10.2018 | Nexus 2012-13 courses scheduled for deletion

ITS retains LMS courses in Nexus on a rolling five (5) year basis from the end of the term a course is taught, as per the Learning Management System (LMS) Course Retention Policy. On July 10th, ITS will remove course sites more than five (5) years old. (i.e., Summer, 2012, Fall 2012, Winter 2013, Spring 2013 term courses). Exemptions to the policy are handled on a case-by-case basis (contact snyderd2@union.edu).

Event Support Fees

The definition of an academic activity/event includes regularly scheduled classes, labs, review sessions, and performing arts rehearsals and productions. Learning Environments (LE) does not charge for academic activities/eventsFor non-academic events, the following list of A/V setup tiers will help you budget the most cost effective solution for your event needs. These tiers may be a cheaper option than renting individual pieces of equipment in some instances. LE is happy to talk through your options as you are making preparations for your event, if desired. Just call 388-6438—we are happy to help you!  

LE staff are available to setup equipment for non-academic events at a rate of $30/hr. This fee is based on one day events.  Please call the LE office at 388-6430 for a quote for events spanning more than one day. An organization's account number must be provided to make an event setup request or, if paying by cash or check, all fees must be paid in advance (please make all checks out to "Union College").  If you are requesting a one time, non-recurring setup for an academic class, there is no fee or need for an account number. However, requests for setups and/or an operator to record an academic event/class on a recurring basis will incur an $30/hour fee.

To request an event setup, please call 388-6438 or send an email to helpdesk@union.edu at least three business days in advance of your event.   There is a 25% surcharge for requests less then 24 buisness hours.

  • includes minimum of 2 hours of LE staff setup/breakdown time

Large Setup includes:

  • Projector/Screen or LCD, Laptop or DVD Player, multiple speakers or sound system, multiple microphones
  • includes minimum of 3 hours of LE staff setup/breakdown time

Installed Equipment Locations Fee 

  • Minimum of 1 hour LE staff startup/shutdown time
  • Additional time to operate installed equipment in a facility will incur an additional $30/hour fee

Locations that have installed projector, screen, sound system: Nott, Memorial Chapel, Olin 115, Reamer Auditorium, Old Chapel
