Learning Technologies
The Learning Technologies group provides support for the integration of technology in teaching and learning. Learning Technologies consists of three groups – Instructional Technology, Instructional Facilities, and Media Services. We work to promote the enhancement of student learning through the effective use of instructional technology.
Instructional Technology
Instructional Technology can provide both pedagogical and technological assistance with a wide range of software and technology tools including:
- Learning Management Systems (Nexus)
- Blogs
- Wikis
- Clickers
- Lecture Capture
We also provide technology consultations, one-on-one training, workshops, and other services that are beneficial to an innovative learning environment. If you are interested in how to best incorporate technology into new or updated assignments and projects or if you’re learning how to use a new technology tool, the Instructional Technologists can provide more information and assistance.
Instructional Facilities
Instructional Facilities supports technology-enhanced learning spaces and instructional facilities such as the electronic classrooms, Multimedia Lab, the Kelly Advanced Computing Lab, and other student labs. We install and maintain both the computing equipment and the audio-visual equipment in these spaces. We provide design and configuration assistance to departments interested in developing instructional facilities within their locations.
Media Services
Media Services supports the audio-visual needs throughout campus by delivering equipment to classrooms and other spaces that are not already equipped with technology. Special events such as conferences, guest speakers, films, Convocation, Founders Day, Graduation, Parents & Homecoming Weekend, and ReUnion Weekend are also some of the events supported by Media Services.
